iron is pronounced /'a''n/ and not /'a'r'n/

You should hear how we pronounce it on this side of the Atlantic. I don't know how to use the international pronunciation symbols, but we say AY-earn, with the R getting the typical American treatment (and AY being the same as I (yo)).
