In English when a man refers to his wife as his woman, he is thought of as something of a brute.

A man can refer to his wife as his lady, and he's thought of as being quite formal. Any thoughts or comments'

I've always thought it interesting that in English we say "man and wife", but in Spanish they say "marido y mujer"

So then, is it completely normal for a man to refer to his wife as "mi mujer?"

  • Yes, I have heard it used a lot actually. =) - NikkiRivera Mar 21, 2012 flag
