latino stereo types

i just want to get people's opinions on stereo types of the latin culture and i want to know the stereo types you have heard or believe.

I am a Latina and I think that there are a lot of stereo types and some of them are true. But then again some of them just don't make any sense. I mean not every Latinos last name is Sanchez though it is a common name. The one about being super religious is true most Latinos are very very faithful and the whole families go to church every week. So they are very family oriented. And the one about Latinos are short and small well i think that, that was true but not any more. When the Hispanics came they got taller so I think that the tall Latinos have more Spanish in them than Indian.

yo soy chilango. y el peor stereotipo es que todos los que somos de la gran ciudad somos rateros o mal portados. lo que no entiende la gente que en una de las ciudades mas grandes del mundo el crimen es mas obvio que por ejemplo en un pueblito.los chilangos tenemos la misma malafama que un Nueva Yorkino en los Estados Unidos. Pero nuestra malafama se extiende mas.

The most popular false stereotype is that the Spanish population is Latin. We had a President who called Spain Latin America. Their ancestry is Visagoth, Moorish and ancient Iberian cave dwellers now called the PP. They have nowhere near the short fuse associated with Latins and their emotional outbursts are mild compared to the Greeks. Their closest cultural counterpart is the French. Both cultures can't go 15 minutes without talking about the four things that interest them most, food,food,food and sex.

Bueno, bueno,
cuantas opiniones diversas, cosas buenas y cosas no tan buenas. Como en todas las culturas.
Es cierto que, los latinos son de sangre caliente sus mujeres muy cariñosas y muy posesivas al igual que los hombres.
En cuanto a que son vagos, bueno puede ser mas cierto, pero cuando estas en climas tan calurosos cuesta mas de trabajar, no?
La familia es un tema muy importante, hacemos una piña. Esto quiere decir que estamos todos muy unidos y hacemos lo que sea para defendernos.
Bebedores, tambièn puede ser pero por aqui es mas usual encontrar extranjeros borrachos que españoles, jejej sobretodo por Calella. Los extranjeros "teenagers", que vienen de viaje de fin de curso acaban muchos muy mal al final de la noche.
Bueno no se que mas deciros, he reido mucho con muchas opiniones, lastima que algunas no las he podido entender del todo.

I like to write in my own language, very clear.
Pero que tontería escribe Roger, por lo que pude entender compara a los chilenos rivales de salvadoreños,entre otros pueblos centroamericanos. Todo lo mete en un mismo saco, como las películas esterotipadas de Hollywood ( como si nosotros dijéramos que todos los norteamericanos son unos presumidos, arrogantes y que su ¨América¨ es el centro del Universo) , Chile está en Sudamérica.

Y ahí hay una diferencia con los otros tipos de habla hispana, ya que en países sudamericanos como Argentina, Uruguay y Chile tienen una importante influencia de inmigrantes europeos (no españoles).
Por ejemplo es imposible comparar a un rioplatence con un habitante del Caribe o Centroamérica, hay importantes factores culturales que chocan ,pese a hablar el mismo idioma.El uruguayo es más bien sobrio al lado de un cubano, etc ( de Chile no opino, son ¨inefables¨....)
Pero como en todo orden de cosas es muy malo generalizar, hay de todo, como en el resto del mundo.

Otra cosa, por lo que respecta al clima, otra generalización.
Aquí los inviernos son muy fríos, incluso cae nieve en el sur, intenten ir con guayaberas a Punta Arenas este invierno. jajaja
