Sentences in Spanish have a subject and a predicate. The predicate mus have a verb. The usual is to have the subject first (but this isn't a strict rule).

  • El perro (subject) come (predicate)

If you want to modify the subject, you can add an adjective, usually after the noun, though this isn't a strict rule.

  • El perro feo come
  • El hermoso perro come

The verb must agree with the subject in number and gender. And it possesses the sentence tense. For this reason, verbs are conjugated.

  • Yo como (I eat)
  • Nosotros comemos (We eat)
  • Tú comerás (You will eat)
  • Ellos comerían (they would eat)

After this, you need to learn about grammar.
