I am working on the following sentence:

"Casó hacia 1675 con don Luis Muñoz de la Barba y Gutiérrez-Rubio, hijo de don Francisco y de doña Catalina, con descendencia que pasa a su varonía;"

The above sentence is referencing a women. I translated the sentence as:

"She married in 1675 to Don Luis Muñoz de la Barba y Gutierrez-Rubio, son of Don Francisco and Doña Catalina, descent is going on male side;"

My question is about "varonia". Does it mean the lineage was transferred from the lady to a male?

I am unsure of the word varonáa. Varon means a son, or male offspring. Varonil means virile, or manly.

Also, it appears that varon may be related to baron because "v"s and "b"s are pronounced the same (or supposedly, given regional differences) in Spanish.

Therefore, I believe you sentence should read something like "**. . . descendants that pass to her/his son**"
