Faltar en un contexto de tiempo y distancia

Hello everybody. There are different words which are used in different context and most of the time I'm confused. I will give the word and the context. I appreciate your help, Thank you.

Cuanto falta para llegar? ( vas en un avion y preguntas el tiempo que falta para llegar a un destino)

Faltan dos tenedores ( estas poniendo la mesa y queda por poner dos tenedores mas)

Falta mucho? ( estas trabajando y preguntas a tu jefe cuanto queda para acabar el trabajo)

Lo que no me queda claro es cuando se usa faltar para el tiempo y para la distancia

Por cierto que significa esto: Is there long to go? que habla de tiempo o distancia

Tiempo: "Faltan quince para las cuatro" (Cuántos minutos faltan para que sea una hora en específico.)

Distancia: "Faltan dos kilómetros para llegar al pueblo" (La distancia que todavía hay que recorrer)

About "long to go", i think it is about what still needs to be done ("mucho por hacer"), i'm not sure.

or maybe it's the same as a "long way to go" = "un largo camino por recorrer"
