Why have the Hot Questions gone?

Question

It seems nonsense to me to have questions that had an answer 2 seconds ago on the third page just because they were started 12 hours ago.

Newest is a good option but Hot was very useful as well.

I just noticed this, as well.

Agreed! They should definitely keep Hot Questions. It would be nice to have the option for the user to set their own default sort criteria though.

It now "defaults" to Newest - not "Hot" but they are not the latest updated posts.
