ASK A QUESTION Concerning the word "guay"
Hola, todos,
I have been told that the word "guay" means "cool", but someone told me it does not. I am curious as to what it means and if anybody can answer that, I would appreciate it.
Also, when I say "bueno", do I change that to "buenas" because I am a female?
Gracias, todos mi amigos.

"Guay" is a slang term in Spain for cool (it can be found in the dictionary), but it is used mostly among children and teenagers. Being a local slang, it could mean anything elsewhere.
Regarding "buenas", it is used an interjection, so it doesn't change regardless of your sex.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The word "guay" means different things in different Spanish-speaking regions of the world.
You would use the word "buenos" or "buenas" (as an adjective) depending on the gender of your subject.
Buenos días (día is masculine)
Buenas noches (noches is feminine)
In my experience "guay"means more along the lines of "Super", however the word probably varies in different countries.
*Mariana gave perfect answer for the Buenas question. It depends Masculine/Feminine based on the subject of the sentence, not the person speaking. (Noche/Día)
My son's Hispanic friends use it all the time. They're 16 or so. They use it like cool, but in that sarcastic way teens have with their friends.
I have seen this word in a children's song! I guess it is starting to become a 'regular word' instead of a 'slang'? I mean, people don't usually teach children slangs do they?
