Hello Laura grin

I think you are asking about how to describe someone: either in terms of their physical features or their characteristics. The same phrase is used for/to ask about both descriptions. The same verb ser is used to talk about charcteristics: either physical features or personality.

Pregunta ¿Cómo es ella? = What is she like? ¿Cómo eres = What are you like?

Contesta: Ella es alta, bonita y tiene un buen sentido de humor = She is tall, pretty and has a good sense of humour.

This question applies to asking someone about themselves but does not refer to the current idiom in English that is infact a rhetorical question you would say when someone does something a little silly: ''What are you like!'' but is as much a statement as a question so I have used the exclamation mark instead of a question mark! You would say:¡Hay que ver cómo eres! = What are you like!

I hope this helps grin
