Which Spanish speaking country dialect do you like or find interesting, as for me I love the Dominicans accent, it's sounds like they are singing when they speak.

Mexicanas. It's the attractiveness of their accent that got me to start learning Spanish.

I prefer my Spanish with a Colombian (coastal) sabor: their unbelievably fast speed of talking; their temperament; their acompanying body talk; their loud, happy-sounding voices (in spite of all the problems over there) .......

Play me some vallenatos and I melt away wink

(Te amo te amo by Felipe Pelaez for example, or Gracias by Silvestre Dangond, or La Sinceridad by Peter Manjarres ... ............ mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)

  • I met a Colombian once who was translating a message. Maybe it was just him, but his speech sounded so smooth and clean (just an observation, no offense to anyone). It was really cool, like a narrator kind of voice. - Goldie_Miel Feb 8, 2012 flag

Colombian! But I love them all, Galician accents are fantastic too. And Mexican is so much fun! I love the way werevertumorro talks on youtube.

I don't even know what accent I'm learning. Sometimes I say things one way and sometimes I say them another way, I like the gentle "j" sound on the ll and y a lot, but I've resigned myself to having to learn vosotros. The main thing in an accent is vowels so I'll always have a recognizable English-speaker accent I think. Vowels are difficult!

Here's some interviews of people in Cuba:

Wow! Really difficult for me to understand, but it's a question of not being accustomed to it. There's a lot of English accents I find hard to understand too!

  • I love that "j"-ish sound too, lol. I had started using it but then I changed back to the y-ish sound. Now, I'm considering switching again, lol. - Goldie_Miel Feb 8, 2012 flag

Argentinian. The "sh"/"zh" sounds and Italian-like inflection make it really musical sounding and unique.

I'm torn. I've been really learning toward the Venezuelan accent, but I favor the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans as well (Caribbean, in general). I like so many, but can't have 'em all, right? Lol
