Mistake on the word of the day "Adelante"

Question

There is a mistake on the word "adelante".

Here is the link

"Adelante" is an adverb, not an adjective. And the second example is wrong.

I sat in front of him. -> Me senté adelante de él.

It should be "Me senté enfrente de él" or " Me senté delante de él"

En el español de América, en registros coloquiales o populares, no es infrecuente que adelante vaya seguido de un complemento con de: [Arg.] Marca de incorrección «La mujer se puso adelante del auto para evitar que avanzara»[Arg.](Clarín [Arg.] 30.1.97). Pero, [Arg.]en general, es uso rechazado por los hablantes cultos y se recomienda evitarlo en el habla esmerada; en esos casos debe emplearse delante.

The dictionary indicates that using "adelante de" to mean "in front of" is something they do in America (it has "Am." after that phrase). Is it possible that it only appears wrong because you guys (Raul and Cogu) are from Spain?

El diccionario indica que usar "adelante de" para signicar "in front of" es algo que se hace en america (tiene "Am." después de esa frase). ¿Es posible que solo les parece incorrecto porque ustedes dos (Raul y Cogu) son de españa?
