(Me acuerdo leer - hace mucho tiempo, supongo - sobre Uri Geller, el tipo que dice que pueda curvar cucharas y cosas semejantes por telequinesia.)

Maybe the plate was fried octopus rings ''calamares a la romana'' those are pretty popular in Spain, and as l know this guy called uri geller could make things like forks bend or even rounded, so maybe he just meant to say that he needs a circled fork to eat the octopus rings with it

Pues, claro, normalmente vas a los bares de fútbol. Este es un restaurante de fútbol de tipo más caro, y se sirven las tapas de calamares (pulpos ) echas como pelotas. O posiblemente echos verdaderos fútboles , se comen como la goma...

In case this is not understandable: A tapas made of either fried octopus or fried up footballs, they taste very similar..Obviously, served,in the shape of a football..
