I just bought a camera tonight.

Me acabo de comprar una cámara esta noche.

I'm so excited.

It's an Olympus Pen E-3. I'm telling you all about it while I wait for the battery to charge.

Pesta's pictures inspired me. I'm hoping to take a trip to the bioluminescent bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico with my sister and her family in March.

Have you ever heard of such a place? The plankton ("plancton" in Spanish - how's that for an easy Word of the Day?) glow in the dark when you move them around in the water.

My sister has been there before. She says that moving your hands around in the water at night is like "touching the universe."

I want to take pictures when I'm there and was ready to upgrade from my iPhone camera.

Anyone want to talk about camera recommendations a favorite place to take pictures, or a place they want to go and take pictures?

I've been there, you'll love it. About 15 years ago I designed a house in Vieques for a guy who managed a ski area near where I lived in Vermont. Of course, I had to spend a week there getting to understand the site! Congratulations on the camera, sounds like you're beginning a great journey.
