ASK A QUESTION Abriendo vela

Abriendo vela This is the title of a song by Marcos Vidal... I understand the words separately but I can't really understand what they mean together. Opening the sails? Sailing with the wind (drifting)? Under full sail? Cutting a path across the water (like 'abriendo paso', maybe implying against some resistance)?
Can anyone shed some light? Thanks ![]()

Therefore I set sail..
Por tanto seguiré abriendo vela,
aunque en la lejanía no te vea,
y multiplicaré en Ti mi fuerza,
si sé que en la otra orilla Tu me esperas.
- I know that's not excact, but I think that's what he wants to say. Open to suggestions! - annierats Nov 20, 2011 flag

- although you do have zarpar for set sail, yours is much more poetic :) - Kiwi_Girl Nov 20, 2011 flag
- Thank you kiwi. It's a song after all, it's not an exam question. - annierats Nov 20, 2011 flag
