Question

Did you notice that yesterday's and today's word of the day email was different? Perhaps that the author's were someone other than me?

I thought it would be fun for you, our awesome users, to write the word of the day! IndianaChris, my new favorite member, has taken on the task and posts a new word every day for you to write sentences for. Heidita started out correcting all the sentences for us and now drvicente has taken over as the official corrector!

We cannot thank these awesome volunteers enough! This is a ton of work and they deserve some huge recognition (insert awesome clapping, smiling faces, and fireworks - I don't know where you guys find these, but they are certainly appropriate here!). This is a huge, daily task and they make sure you get an accurate and awesome word of the day.

Join in the fun every day for the new word of the day game. The word will be published on our site and in the daily email one month later and your name could be featured next!

I agree, we can't thank them enough. Maybe SpanishDict can buy Chris a new Boss302 Mustang and send Heidita on an all expense paid dive trip. Well maybe that is over the top, but it is nice to see them get the thanks they deserve.

Wow - thank you Paralee for allowing us to do this, and giving us the responsibility to create the sentences for SpanishDict!! I also think that the new format / new look is very awesome!!

SpanishDict is a great site all around - from the Spanishdict team, to the moderators, to all the members - everyone's efforts are what makes this site great!!

....and of course, a very very special thanks from me to Heidi and to Dr. Vicente for doing the corrections to the thread - they really do spend a lot of their precious time helping all of us out, and I am extremely appreciative to have their help!!

l definitely agree with you, Paralee!

People who worked on getting the word posted and corrected everyday are very kind to give a lot of their time working on the thread, specially chris who posts it everyday, and Heidi who has corrected it for a very long time (bearing my Spanish horrible mistakes is a very hard work actually ) and DR.vicente who is correcting it now, such people are worth a million friend, thank you so much!

As I wrote in a previous thread with similar subject, this change gives the advantage to the user of dealing with two words instead of one. One can practise on the new word of the day by writing their sentence and at the same time have the opportunity to revise the word sent by email and study the examples.

I think it'd be interesting to know if the participation in this thread has increased after this change or if people are more careful now with their punctuation, syntax and grammar.

Moderators and correctors are doing a great job.

It's nice to participate and contribute to our forum .

Hi guys, I totally agree with Paralee. All the work you pùt in is really something! I really appreciate it all, today the word el afán was new for me, I love new words!!! Thanks to Indianachris for the posts and the nice words, Heidita who was the previous corrector and also drvicente the new one.

I love this site and admire all who work on it. Nevertheless, I have never managed to get the e-mail, even though I have clicked on it many times and asked my husband to adjust the cookies ( perhaps he has eaten them?). Spanish Pal used to send me helpful technical suggestions but he seems to have fallen off the planet. It doesn't matter very much, I switch on my computer and look up the site ( Mozarella Firefox in javascript) and I can se what the word is. if I have my right computer glasses, that is. Then I can peer at the corrections, now adding the reading glasses as well. Yes, you may laugh, I would have laughed , even 10 years ago. Now I know all about glasses, except where they are..

I am most grateful for any corrections made to my answers on the daily threads , I do realise this is a mammoth task for anyone to undertake and feel like giving a bunch of flowers everytime my work is corrected , So thankyou moderators your good work has never gone unnoticed.
