ASK A QUESTION Checking phrase translations
Hello! I'm trying to translate something(UK English-->Spanish), and there are a few phrases I'm not sure about. How am I doing?
(Have you had) Too much to drink?...¿Has tenido demasiado (please help)? Something like that...Algo así/algo similar Maybe it's time you went home...Quizas debes volver a casa. What year is this?...¿Cuál es el año? Happy New Year!...¡Feliz año nuevo! You've gone missing...(I have no idea) How much have you had(to drink)?!(in response to the question "what year is it?)...¿Cuánto has tenido?

It looks a bit messy to me, so I divided it into paragraphs:
(Have you had) Too much to drink? - ¿Has tenido demasiado (please help)?
I don't think tener can be used as a synonyme for to drink. As kmaakheru said, It'd be better tomar or beber: ¿Has bebido/tomado demasiado?
Something like that - Algo así/algo similar
Both are correct.
Maybe it's time you went home - Quizas debes volver a casa.
Quizá has a tilde.
The English estructure looks weird to me, so I'm not sure about the correct Spanish tense, but debes looks even weirder. I think it'd be more usual deberías. The rest of the sentence is fine.
What year is this? - ¿Cuál es el año?
It is correct.
Happy New Year! - ¡Feliz año nuevo!
It is correct.
You've gone missing (I have no idea)
I'm not sure about the meaning of this sentence because of the lack of sense. If it means you've suddenly disapear, you could say something like te has ido, has desaparecido.
How much have you had(to drink)?!(in response to the question "what year is it?)...¿Cuánto has tenido?
I don't understand how can this sentence be a reponse to what year is it, but it is the same case as the first one: tomar or beber.
- It's a response to what year is it because the other person is so drunk they had to ask what year it is. not the time or even the date, the YEAR. and thanks a lot! - bailarina95 Oct 10, 2011 flag
- You've gone missing--the full context is "You're dead, officially, back home. So many people died that day and you've gone missing, you're on the list of the dead." He's talking to someone in hiding. - bailarina95 Oct 10, 2011 flag
(Have you had) Too much to drink?...¿Has tenido demasiado (please help)?
¿Has tomado desmasiado?/¿Tomaste demasiado?/¿Has tenido demasiado de beber?
Something like that...Algo así/algo Similar
Algo así
Maybe it's time you went home...Quizas debes volver a casa.
Creo que es hora de que te vayas a casa/Quizas sea tiempo de que te vayas a casa.
What year is this?...¿Cuál es el año?
¿Qué año es éste?/¿A qué año estamos? - - (What year are we on?--It's something like that)
Happy New Year!...¡Feliz año nuevo!
You've gone missing...
Has estado perdido
How much have you had(to drink)?!
¿Cuánto has tomado?/¿Cuánto has tenido de beber?
(in response to the question "what year is it?)...¿Cuánto has tenido?
I didn't know what you meant by that last question... ![]()
- Cuanto has tenido was my attempt at how much have you had to drink. What she's really asking is how drunk are you, but I guess people don't put it that directly as long as they're harmless. - bailarina95 Oct 11, 2011 flag
