As simple as that word may seem, in my opinion, a literal translation doesn't work here.

Try with "intervalo de tiempo", an intervalo de tiempo is any period between two dates.

Vivió el intervalo de tiempo transcurrido entre 1934 (año en que nació), y 2009 (año en que murió)

By "línea de tiempo" we understand something broader, a sequence of (usually long) time intervals

"cronología" is a sequence of events sorted by the date they happened. This is a "línea de tiempo" with "notas cronológicas"
