I want to draw someone's attention to a glow in the sky. It's the glow of a downtown city area, and my friend and I are some miles away. What's the correct word for "glow" or "light" in this context?

Also, when using Spanish, do I need to specify "Look at that glow", or can I shorten it by pointing to the light and saying "That glow in the sky" - ??

Muchas gracias.

I find that resplandor is very poetic and kind of romantic sounding wink. In a common, everyday situation I would go with brillo:

"Mira el brillo de la ciudad" or "Mira el brillo de las luces (de la ciudad)" also "O ¡qué lindo el brillo (de las luces)!" (pointing to the city). That will, most definitely, get someone's attention smile

I would try to be as specific as possible so that you will be totally understood...for example: ¡Mira el resplandor sobre la panorama de la ciudad!
