thanks - I'm translating a driver's licence and it says: entidad emisora - policia nacional civil
I would just say "radio station". The word entidad doesn't really translate in this case. We would use the name of the company, ie BBC radio station.

I'm sorry, I guess I should have made it clear that I'm translating an out of country driver's license
LOL that's why I asked for context because I first came up with radio station aswell, but it just didn't sound right!

yes, I believe when it comes to this - issuing authority would be the specific translation - thanks for your help

In England a broadcasting station is a radio station.

I always refer to where I live which is England. I was not referring that England was the UK. I certainly didn't mean to cause offence.
