ASK A QUESTION How can I speak Spanish if I have trouble rolling my tounge?

Have you ever imitated the purring of a cat? It's basically the same thing as rolling Rs.
Heh! Some people have rows of bumps on the roof of the mouth (actually, rudimentary teeth) that interfere with rolling R's, and also pronouncing "dr". I find that twisting the tongue slightly when "rolling" helps. Think of a Russian saying "prretty gorrals" (pretty girls).
One of my Spanish teachers had no sympathy for my inability to roll my rr's. She is still learning English and she hasn't been able to master the Sp, Sl St sounds, and finds the word "would" impossible. She also said the words are not wrong without it, but rather as chileno says, it comes across as an accent.
Even so, I'm still working hard to master the rr's.
