Does me querias dejar mean when I wanted to leave or does it mean when you wanted to leave me? This is the whole sentence, "me acuerdo cuando me querias dejar al principio el mundo se me viro encima.

It means when you wanted to leave me. The whole sentence is something like "I remember when you wanted to leave me" and then my guess is "in the beginning my world turned upside down." I'm not too sure about the last part though. I hadn't heard "virar" before so I just looked it up and it seems to give that meaning.

  • virar is a mistake, it must be venir: el mundo se me vino encima. - LuisCacheux Jun 28, 2011 flag

me acuerdo cuando me querias dejar al principio el mundo se me viro encima.

Correct form:

Me acuerdo de cuando me querías dejar. Al principio el mundo se me vino encima.

Acordarse de algo: to remember something.

Venírsele a alguien el mundo encima: deprimirse, abatirse: Cuando lo corrieron de su trabajo, el mundo se le vino encima.

I remember when you wanted to leave me. At first, I was shocked.

My attempt would be - I remember when you wanted to leave me in the beginning the world turned me over.

  • perhaps that's too literal though and would be more like 'my world caved in' or something like that?
  • Kiwi, the literal translation would be "the world turned over on me". The "se" makes all the difference. - gintar77 Jun 28, 2011 flag
