My book has these sentences:

No creo que funcione el televisor. No estoy segura de que yo pueda repararlo.

My question is why is segura used here? Wouldn't it be seguro with el televisor?

So should the sentence be: No estoy seguro que yo pueda repararlo.

If it was , No creo que funcrione la televisión. No estoy segura de que yo pueda repararla. Is that correct?

Thank you for your help.

Seguro is an adjective for you, not for the TV.

If you are a boy, you would say seguro, no matter if it's el televisor or la televisión. If you are a girl, you use segura.

No estoy seguro/segura = I am not sure

  • Hmm Ok. So the seguro applies to the speaker. Great, thank you. - sanlee May 1, 2011 flag

Seguro changes according to the gender of the person saying it not thing your are unsure about. A male would say No estoy seguro and female would say No estoy segura.
