The "los" doesn't make sense to me. . .it is the direct object pronoun and the direct object is in the sentence after the verb and is singular.

Also, "recibir" is not being used in its pronominal form.

  • Thanks. In order to make the sentence passive would be Se recibio un buen premio. A good prize was received. So you're right; the "los" doesn't belong right there. - shunamask Apr 13, 2011 flag

"Un buen premio fue recibido" is the passive form for "(alguien) recibió (proper verb here) un buen premio". It lacks the agent so you can't rebuild the active form without context. If "they" in your sentence doesn't refer to a generalization, the translation would be: "Recibieron un buen premio". Since in Spanish you can omit the personal pronoun, because it's implicit in the verb. For further doubts, please ask me! I hope this answer can help.

I think you can say "Ellos recibieron un buen premio", but I'm not 100% certain.

Edit: I'm confused about this.
