I want to say: A student must remain in good standing to receive this scholarship. The translator is saying: para mantener en buen estado. Is that correct?

To me that basically says: "To maintain in good standing." So, if that's all you translated out, then sí.

It is correct, but as BBnewgo says, it is not unique to that context.
