'The lyrics are about..."

Question

I have to write about a couple Spanish songs for an assignment, and I'm having a hard time with how to say "The lyrics are about..." Or, more generally, how to say "to be about" when talking about a song, a movie, a story, etc. Would these work?

La letra es sobre...

La letra habla de...

La letra trata de...

Is there a way to use tocar, or am I just getting that confused with tratar?

I would be happy to hear any other options as well.

Well a book about gardening could be translated as

Un libro de jardinería or un libro sobre la jardinería

But more generally to be about, ie relating to, can be translated by either of the following

De, acerca de o sobre

I think either phrase would work but to make it easy on you, I would say to use

"se trata de." If you use that phrase, it can be used to explain a song, a movie, or a story.

"La pelicula se trata de..." The movie is about....

"La cancion se trata de..." The song is about...

"La letra de la cancion se trata de.." The lyrics of the song are about...

"La historia se trata de..." The story is about....

And you are confusing tocar with tratar. Tocar means "to touch," "to knock," "to be ones turn," or "to play an instrument."
