Special thanks to Amykay for participating.
Have a nice day !!!
Ceuta and Melilla are two autonomous cities of Spain and two exclaves located in Africa. Ceuta had been a Portuguese city before it was ceded to Spain in 1668. Melilla was conquered by Spain in 1497. Before becoming autonomous cities, both had been parts of Andalusia.
The plazas de soberanía consist of the Islas Chafarinas, the Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera, the Peñón de Alhucemas.
Although Morocco has claimed Ceuta and Melilla, both cities are recognized internationally as incorporated part of Spain.
