Un mamarracho puede ser un tonto, idiota, payaso, mequetrefe. Depende del contexto. Lo único que te puedo decir es que es un insulto.

Un auténtico mamarracho.

My dictionary gives this example:

"estaba hecho un mamarracho...He looked a complete mess"

Be mindful with that word. Even among spanish speakers that seems to have a bad feeling to it, it could very well be an insult too.

For whatever it's worth, another dictionary defines it (in English): mamarracho, a * a] sm/f (=persona) sight *
"estaba hecho un mamarracho" => he looked a sight -o- a complete mess *

b] sm (=objeto) monstrosity * , sight raspberry

So kind of close to what our SD has, I suppose...(sorry Flav!)

  • Hmmm, here's an example of my attempt to 'edit' by adding a photo, and this is what resulted. Auxilio... - cristalino Feb 16, 2011 flag
  • The SD plaform will not display images whose URL has spaces. You can convert the URL using a service such as bitly or tinyurl. I used bitly in this case. Lovely pic. :-P - Gekkosan Feb 16, 2011 flag
  • Gekko, thanks a million! Using bit.ly like a champ... do you recommend "shrinking" all URLs just as a precaution? - cristalino Feb 16, 2011 flag
