Question

Someone told me that abujerar would be the most appropriate word to use in this context; however, this word is not in the dictionary. It is referenced in many places as similar to agujerear, but doesn't seem to be the same, or as common.

I ask what country it is used in because I heard it in Texas, so I thought it might be more common in Mexico. I also don't want to start using this word if it is not in the dialect of the area.

You may be referring to agujerar, which is to pierce (holes). Take note that it is related to words like aguja (needle) and agujero (hole), so that must be it.

• I think that agujerear is a more flexible term than agujerar. Agujerear can mean "to make a hole", "vent", "prick", or "peirce". Unless someone misspelled a word for google translate : - ). - yogamat Feb 16, 2011
