Why do you think Facebook is so popular?

I like facebook a lot. It is a great way to stay in touch with my 20 yr old son who is at college, plus other young relatives. Most young people don't talk on the phone anymore, or even email. You have to text them or message them on fb. I've had fun reconnecting with old friends I haven't seen in years. All my "friends" are actually people I know and care about. I keep my privacy settings very tight, and I don't post stupid things like "I think I'll go make dinner now." It works for me!

I like Facebook so much because I get to talk to friends outside of school. Some I don't live near and some don't have phones so it's good to still be able to communicate with them.Other people (ninos more than not) like it so they can show off their high number of friends even though they probably know almost none of them.

I enjoy reading the comments my conservative friends make on Facebook, but I was really hooked on the games. Now I am hooked on SpanishDict and spend very little time on Facebook.

Because people think Facebook is popular and they naively believe that for being there they will be popular too, jumbling fictional characters known as contacts with friends.

I personally find it boring, but it can come handy if I need to contact someone real to meet in the real world.

I don't chat with strangers at all on FB. It lets me stay connected with friends I don't have much chance to see. Even if they live half way across the country we can keep up on daily events, share photos and complain about how bratty our teenagers are. jk
