ASK A QUESTION What's your high score on the Word of the Day Weekly Quiz?
Hello all!
Like I said yesterday, we are in the process of rolling out a few fun new features for you guys. One of which is the...drum roll...Word of the Day Weekly Quiz!
A recent New York Times article points out that test taking can really help cement learning (over simply studying). So we decided to take it to heart! You may read the Word of the Day email every day and maybe even play the Word of the Day challenge in the forum, but do you really remember all the words?
Test yourself on the last seven days' words and see if you can make it to the leader's board. Check out the brand new Word of the Day Weekly Quiz!

Hi, paralee! Great idea!
Where he says:
Tranquil
He should say:
Tranquilo
Is there any possibility of editing mistakes in the flashcards?
That's a good idea, I'll be looking forward to taking the Word of the Day weekly quiz.
Good idea. A quick glimpse of the e-mail is too little for my tiny brain, so I will follow that ![]()
¡Idea brillante, Paralee!
Gracias, Paralee. However, we can only do that flashcard once. Sometimes we won't remember some words after several months
Great idea, Paralee. We could also have a monthly quiz...not posted until the next month is over...for example, all 31 words from January can be given for a quiz on March 1.....all 28 words for February on April 1, etc. That way everyone will make sure that these words "stick". Vaanz and Sandlee do alot of work in posting these words and making them interesting, and cogumela puts in valuable time correcting them, so the least we can do is to try and remember them.
Great work!!!
This is great! I love the idea of reviewing the words that people have been using all week. Not only is it good practice to read the sentences they create in the threads, but now there's extra reinforcement. Great idea!
