What does this mean ".es" at the end of a Spanish website url???

Question

I'm looking at Spanish websites and one ends in a ".es". What does this mean?? Is it like a .com, .gov, .org, etc.??? Is it considered a reliable website?

Yes, 'es' for 'España'
