ASK A QUESTION Catch up with a friend / ponerse al corriente?

Tengo un amigo que no le he hablado hace mucho tiempo. Entonces quiero decir que tenemos que hablar... o platicar... pero con el sentimento más de amigos muy buenos. En inglés usamos "catch up." En este sentido "catch" no es literal. Ejemplos:

We need to catch up (with each other). We should catch up (with each other). I can't wait to catch up.

Etc...

Busqué una traducción y sólo encontré "ponerse al corriento." ¿Tiene sentido? ¿Qué le diría a mi amigo? ¿Debemos que ponernos al corriente?

Ponerse al corriente tiene sentido.

Puedes decirle "Tenemos que ponernos al corriente". (Debemos doesn't fit in there)

"We have to catch up"

Okay, great.

So

"We have to catch up."

and..

"We should catch up."

The first one indicates a desire or need, the second one is kind of a semi-serious suggestion, something you would say to an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend! Haha. So I can't use "deber" with that form of should? How about deberíamos?
