¿Vello vs. Bello?

Estaba mirando un programa en la televisión y hubo un anuncio para una depiladora. La llamaron un removedor de bello, escrito exactamente así, con la B. Me pregunté, ¿por qué quieren las mujeres remover su belleza? De repente me di cuenta que tuvieron la intención de decir removedor de vello. Pero cuando lo comprobé en el Internet encontré miles de hits. Entiendo que no se puede oir la diferencia entre la B y la V, pero ¿es común escribir bello en vez de vello?

I was watching a TV show and there was a commercial for a hair remover. They called it a "removedor de bello", written exactly like that, with the B. I wondered, "Why do women want to remove their beauty?" Suddenly I realized that they meant to say "removedor de vello". But when I checked the Internet I found thousands of hits. I understand that you can't hear the difference between B and V, but is it common to write "bello" instead of "vello"?

Es cierto que es difícil notar la diferencia entre V y B, pero ortográficamente es un error garrafal (grave), especialmente si lo viste en un anuncio por televisión.
