what is vien linda?

I have a friend at work who is from Mexico and we can only speak spanish together, so communication is shaky at best and really can not be so involved because we do not always understand each other. Anyway he has written me a letter professing his love and there is quite a bit of it i need clarification of. he uses the word vien, could he mean bien? and also what would he mean when he tu estas vien linda... '
