No entiendo que sea un documento sea apostillado ...yo pensaba que un documento notarizado era legal en mexico come aqui.

Notarizar sirve sólo para documentos locales. Documentos internacionales requieren esta legalización especial, que generalmente se hace a través de consulados u otros organismos gubernamentales.

Por favor necesito ayuda, soy nacida en Los Estados Unidos, tengo un amigo quien se le muere su mama. Ella era duena de una casa en Mexico, los hijos que son cuidadanos Americanos se la van a vender a sus familiares que viven alli, ya que casi nunca van a Mexico. Le piden los documentos originales de nacimiento y la de difuncion de su madre. Los dos son originales y los rechazaron por el Juez quien dijo que nececitan ser apostillados....No entiendo por que es eso si son originales los papeles...si ellos llevan estos papeles a el Consulado Mexican ellos pueden hacer esto? gracias

  • You need to take the LONG VERSION of their official US birth certificate to the US consulate and begin the process of getting their Mexican birth certificate. They must go in person with both parents. I don't know what to do if one parent is deceased. - petersenkid2 Aug 18, 2010 flag

No reason to get a Mexican Birth Certificate if they were not born there...these people were born in the USA. We are going to the Consulate to ask, very frustrating. thanks

I don't know if you read this link that was in one of the articles that I posted but you might wish to read how this works in the US.
