ASK A QUESTION What is the difference between using Yo Soy and Soy
5 Answers
Because Yo = I
Soy = I am
so you can use yo soy, but it is not necessary, but Yo can still be used for allot of other sentences. Hope this helps!
Hi Roz ,
I will tell you a very good advice never ever use subject pronouns Including ( yo ) because the verbs on Spanish already tells you who is doing the verb by the conjugation on the verb , so :soy alto is the right answer but : yo soy alto is wrong , for examples check this link it will help you a lot ![]()
When to use "subject pronoun" in Spanish: yo, tú, él, ella....?

On the one hand, there is none. They both mean the same thing.
On the other hand, it's a matter of emphasis. By adding the subject pronoun "yo" you're stressing that you really are tall and the other person should believe you.
Kind of like the difference between "I am" and "I'm"
- no that is a wrong answer madrededos sorry . - lovely_lovel Aug 7, 2010 flag
