ASK A QUESTION El llavero: Has anyone seen my keys?

Based on today's word el llavero, create a sentence or two in Spanish (with the English translation) describing a time you lost your keys, locked yourself out of the car, house, etc. I'm sure someone out there has something funny to share. 
If you need more than a sentence or two to describe your story, write one sentence in Spanish and the rest in English. Please remember to check for corrections and to vote for your favorites.

Las llaves de la casa perdidas en el lago.
Dos años después ellos fueron encontrados en la arena.
The house keys were lost in the lake. Two years later they were found in the sand. I had dropped them while getting into a boat. My name was on a metal tag on the keychain. A man found them while combing the beach with his metal detector and he returned them to me.
I always keep a spare key under the elf in the garden, in case I lose the key again. If you are in my area, be sure to drop by. You know where the key is if I am not at home!!

Estaba en escuela de medicina en el nordeste de EEUU. Teníamos una tormenta de hielo un día durante clase.
I was in medical school in the Northeast USA. We had a terrible ice storm one day during class. When I left to drive home, my key wouldn't unlock the car door because the lock and door had frozen shut. Thankfully, my car was a hatchback so I was able to crawl through the trunk, into the backseat and then finally into the front. Not exactly graceful, but it got the job done.

In 2001 we spent 1 month in Paris, France. Over that period of time, we had forgotten where our house keys were, so we ended up having to break into our own house to get in!

One time I was going from room to room looking for my keys and yelling to everybody, Where are my keys? My wife entered the room and said to me in a very compassionate voice, " Dear, the keys your are looking for are in your hand! What an embarrassment!

Pierdo mis llaves diariamente. Sin embargo, un día, perdí mi coche en el aparcamiento garaje en el centro comercial de la ciudad. Tuve que utilizar la alarma en mis llaves para seguir el sonido que mi coche hecho por más de una hora Fui aparcado en el piso 4 occidental pero había escrito occidental 6 en el billete. Esto no es la primera vez que he perdido mi coche en ese garaje.
I lose my keys daily. Nevertheless, a day, I lost my car in the center commercial parking garage of the city. I had to use the alarm in my keys to follow the sound that my car made for more than one hour I was parked in western floor 4 but had written western 6 on the ticket. This is not the first time that I have lost my car in that garage.

Cuando estaba en la universidad, fui a mi coche después de clase, y estaba cubierto de nieve. Así que comenzo mi coche para permitir que se caliente, consiguira mi raspador de heilo, y comenzara a limpiar mis ventanas. Desafortunadamente, la puerta de mi coche estaba cerrado y bloqueado, con el coche en marcha. Fue horrible!
When I was in college, I went to my car after clase, and it was covered with snow. So I started my car to let it warm up, got my ice scraper, and started cleaning my windows. Unfortunately, I closed the door when I got out and it was locked, with the car running. It was horrible!!

Cuando mi familia y yo estábamos de vacaciones, partí nuestro llave para la camioneta y no podíamos entrar.
Unfortunately it was the middle of winter and our dad had to take the 4 hour drive up and help us.
