So far I can't find any idiomatic equivalent of "golden heart" so I suppose that if it were my problem I'd fall back on "filántropo".

Whatever you suggest, don't confuse it with "Golden Hart" the name of Francis Drake's ship while he was still a pirate capturing Spanish treasure ships.
