How to teach a student to pronounce "rr"?

What is the best method for teaching a student "how to trill her double r's"? Is their a useful trabalenguas? Thanks--L

Welcome to the forum, Phil.

Sometimes it helps if the entire class practices the sound effects of a machine gun in a movie. With the weapons laws in place in many schools, you may need to be creative as to how to get this so-called sound effect off the ground, but it really works. Another idea is to have kids make the sound of a phone ringing.

If kids are quite self-conscious about their difficulty it helps to make this a group thing. If the entire class does it daily, nobody gets singled out.

I know one. It goes like this:

"Erre con erre, guitarra.

Erre con erre, barril.

Ruedan que ruedan las ruedas

ruedas del ferrocarril."
