ASK A QUESTION how to say "Green Card" in Spanish
Green is verde, but "card" has several alternative words in Spanish depending on whether it is a game card, greeting card, court card or identification card. What would be the appropriate word for the permanent resident visa often referred to as a "Green Card."

Welcome to the forum!
When I was doing all the paper work to get my resident visa, I always referred to it just as "Green Card". No translation. An everybody in Argentina understand what it is.
Tarjeta de Residente Permanente.
However, most immigrants to the USA simply say, "Green Card," with a slight accent.
Technically, it is one of those things that can be translated but some people choose not to.
It is either referred to with its English name of Green Card, or Tarjeta Verde... which is sort of the literal translation. In some central and southamerican countries I've heard it as the Green Residence or Residencia Verde, though I find it odd since it's more white than green.
It can also be called the "Tarjeta de Residente Permanente" as someone stated above, but as I said, Green Card or Tarjeta Verde are the most common.
