¿Has oído hablar del libro Mosquito Coast?

I can't understand this. Is it saying, "Have you heard the talk of the book "Mosquito Coast"?

Oído and hablar are throwing me off!

I think it is just asking if you have heard of the book. As in, "have you heard talk of it?"

I agree with Kdwinn I believe it is simply asking, 'have you heard of the book, Mosquito Coast?' grin or have you heard this book spoken about? In spanish, as with most other languages it is important to avoid translating literally word for word into English - as this often makes no sense - but to translate the heart(gist) of the meaning. There are also expressions in English for which there is no direct equivalent translation into the Spanish language e.g. 'Okay'... which is translated as Vale (Fine) I hope this helps.
