Did I use The Word of the Day correctly here: Calentar sus músculos antes de correr.

The context is correct. The sentence seems to suggest the imperative mood, however, Calienta/caliente/calentad/calienten sus músculos....

Calentar would be a noun and your sentence would lack a verb.
