I see the word "Taqueria" on the side of several mexican resturants, what does it mean? Queria means "I want" doesn't it? Thanks

Hi, abyssa, and welcome to the forum!

"Taquería" is a restaurant speciliazing in tacos.

You are correct that "quería" is "I wanted (in the past, not the present tense)", but - coincidentally - a lot of types of stores also en in " -ía". So, for example, "zapatería" is shoe store, "pescadería" is a store specializing in selling fish, "carnicería" is a butcher shop, etc.

Great question!
