ASK A QUESTION La otra semana

Around these parts, the expression "la otra semana" means "next week" as in "Voy a visitarlo la otra semana" (I'm going to visit him next week). Is that a regional expression, or is it consistent around the world?
Of course we also use "la próxima semana" and "la semana que viene".

I have been taught that next week is "la semana que viene". I also think la semana próxima is current. But then again I learnt castillian Spanish.
