how do I say " I can not rest"

I believe the correct translation would be "no puedo descansar."

"Peder" is to be able to. If we conjugate to fit "I" it will be "Puedo," right? Obviously, to make it negative we must add the "no" before it.

"Descansar" is to rest. Notice how this is not a conjugated verb; thus, used in its infinitive state. That's because we have already established the predicate verb... "Descansar" is the direct object... or indirect object or something like that.
