What do you consider fast? If you mean fluent(sp) speak,understand,read,write, I believe it will take years. If you want some handy travel questions and answers.maybe a few weeks.JMO

Depends if you mean to become fluent or just good enough to get by around Spanish speaking people. The former probably takes years, the latter, maybe weeks.

Just study Spanish everyday. I've been doing that for the last 18 months. I'm not fluent but I get by fine when using it.
