it seems they are not so lazy. They are very busy stealing your fish smile

A similar sentence would be:

¿Por qué el gobierno británico es tan pirata? ¿Por qué se roba nuestro petróleo?

What's your problem? Do you need translation for that text, or you have a problem with someone who is stealing your fish?

A late answer - "lazy", I think just a cultural misunderstanding. The BRITISH FISH, a different story! It's well known, documented and accepted by all that the Spanish have been at it for decades - but it's not personal, they nick everybody’s fish. Explanation = Madrid has at least 1 fishmonger's for every butcher's shop, there are fish cafes, bars and restaurants. People love, adore and are total fish gluttons. In my local fishmongers there are at least 10 varieties of fish not commonly sold in London for over 20-years - fish are loved in Madrid but tolerated in London so it's only right they head for where there loved (with a little help). A final fishfact - it's made the news that Poles have started stealing Dutch fish! (Do not tell the Spanish the Dutch have fish.......).

  • As far as the Dutch are concerned, it's a case of the robbers robbed. ;p - Castor77 Feb 6, 2012 flag

Could we be just a little sensitive about the fact that Britannia no longer rules the waves? (Just saying.)
