I have a mexican friend and she always tells me: "No me haga caso, hagame caso, porqué tu no me haces caso?

Does someone knows what is the equivalent in English for "hacer caso"? Is it to pay attention?

No me haga caso in a joky way "Don't mind me" "Ignore me" "Don't take me seriously"

hagame caso "Pay attention" "Take me seriously"

porqué tu no me haces caso? "Why don't you take me seriously?" "Why are you ignoring me?"

Oh yeeeesss.. in Argentina we use that expression a lot!!! Especially with kids...

¿Por qué no me haces caso? Why don't you behave and do what I say?

Haceme caso y comprate la falda (Do what I say and buy the skirt) it's an advice here

No me hagas caso, estoy enojada... (Don't pay attention to me, I'm angry)

Haz caso o le cuento a tu papá... (do what I say or I'll tell your dad)

  • Why "Haceme caso" and not "Hazme caso"? - Luciente Feb 12, 2010 flag
  • Los dos están bien. Tú hazme caso. Vos haceme caso. Yo soy Argentina. Usamos el voceo. A veces se me olvida y se me escapa, trato de no usarlo acá para no confundirlos. Sorry :) - Benz Feb 12, 2010 flag
