Does any of you know some tips to improve my "sentence creating" skills in Spanish. Most of the time I can infer the meaning of a Spanish text, but I have problems in creating such texts.

Should I stress more on learning vocabulary, or exercising grammar or other types exercises?

Maybe I just need some more patience...

Use it all the time, whenever you get the chance.

For instance, you could have written your question in Spanish.

Another thing would be to find someone to write to in Spanish.

The more you use it, the better you will become.

  • I agree with Goyo - and I recommend the Chat room to see how others construct sentences and before you know it you will drop into the same mind set as the Native speakers. The Forum is similarly a very good place. - Mark-Baker Jan 3, 2010 flag

Yes, absolutely!! Practice your sentence-writing skills here! There are several opportunities each day to write something short -- word of the day, picture of the day, the conjugation game, the rorshach game... Start simple, then make your sentences more complex as you gain more confidence. It really does help!

I speak Spanish at the laundry mat a lot but there is a lot of Spanglish as well. There are chat groups at several local libraries that I go to two of them regularly. I answer questions on Spanishdict.com as well. Practice makes perfect. Establo español a la lavandaría mucho pero es mucho Spanglish también. Las bibliotecas locales tienen grupos de chat que voy los dos con regularidad. Práctica hace perfecto. Hint: ¡Compré un bien dictionado!
