FYI I have been told by my mexican friends never to use serpiente because it is very hard to distinguish from serviente. There is another word for snake that they use but I can't remember what it is.

Could it be culebra?

  • That's probably it. I hesitate to say anything that starts with "cule" though. - jeezzle Dec 9, 2009 flag

One way you could find out if a word is masculine or feminine is by typing "the" along with the noun in the translation section.
